California International Marathon Program

Registration opens June 7, 2010 at 10 am

Run your way to your first marathon finish or improve your current time by joining the California International Marathon training program. This training program will help you to prepare for the California International Marathon on Sunday, December 5, 2010.

Workout Times and Locations

First group workout is Sunday, August 8th

Wednesday night workouts are at 6:00 pm

  • Wednesday workouts will be held at William Land Park for the first four weeks and then 100 Howe Avenue, University Park Office parking lot

Sunday morning workouts are at 7:00 am

  • Sunday workouts will be held at William Land Park for the first four weeks and then 100 Howe Avenue and other locations (Sunrise, Garden Highway, Folsom)

Training Groups

  • Runners, under 11 minute per mile pace
  • Runners and Run/walkers, 11 - 13 minute per mile pace

Due to the CIM’s cut-off time of 6 hours and to ensure quality coaching for all training participants, Fleet Feet Sports will enforce the maximum pace per mile time at 13 minutes per mile for this program. 

Assessment Races

In order to better coach you and offer personal training intensities, there are several assessment workouts scheduled throughout the training. One of these assessments will be done during a group workout and another will be done at the Cowtown Half (race entry required).  There will be no alternative group workout/assessment offered on the morning of the Cowtown Half. Participation in the Cowtown assessment is not required, although it is very helpful in preparing for a successful marathon.

Suggested Activity Level Prior to Start of Training

All participants should be able to run a minimum of 45 minutes three times a week by the start of training.

Registration opens June 7, 2010 at 10 am
(Online, in-store at Fleet Feet Sports or by phone at 442-3338)

$145 per person

NO REFUNDS after August 4, 2010.
There are no exchanges or transfers at any time.
Registration fee does not include Cowtown or CIM race entry fee.
A maximum of 200 people will be allowed in the program.  There is no waiting list.

Kick-off night for Registered Participants

The CIM Training Program will Kick-off on Wednesday, August 4th Fleet Feet J Street. Training packets will be handed out from 10 am - 7:00 pm and the Kick-off seminar will begin at 7 pm. You can pick up your packet anytime throughout the day.

Mark your calendars for the Kick-off Night on August 4th as this is where all specific training information is reviewed and discussed including training packets, training schedules, seminar dates, etc.
