Official California International Marathon Training Program

Fleet Feet Sacramento Davis & Elk Grove, Sacramento Running Association, and New Balance present a California International Marathon training experience like no other! 

The Official CIM Training Program has everything: experienced coaches, ability-based training schedules, and marathon specific seminars. Enjoy the Fleet Feet VIP experience on race day with a private bus to the start line and exclusive VIP tent at the race start.

By joining the Official California International Marathon Training Program, you are joining a community of people who share a passion and who want to work together to reach their goals. This program is about encouraging and motivating one another to do your best.  Whether your goal is to finish your first marathon, improve on a previous marathon time, or race to perform, this Fleet Feet training program will leave you a faster, stronger, and smarter runner.

Schedule

All participants receive 18-week training schedules designed for three different goals: Finish, Improve, and Perform. Choose which schedule is right for you, and switch between schedules as needed. All trainees will participate in the same group training runs.

Wednesdays: Group Speed Workout

  • 60-minute fully coached workout geared towards increasing aerobic fitness, strength, and speed.

Weekends: Long Run

  • Gradually increase your mileage each week with guidance from coaches and mentors. Simulate race day with course markings and aid stations.

Choose Your Location

As a member of the Official California International Marathon Training Program, you have access to workouts in three different locations: Sacramento, Davis, and Elk Grove. Choose which workout location you want to attend each week based on your commute, family commitments, or simply for a change of scenery.

Fleet Feet Sacramento

  • Wednesday Speed Workouts: 5:45 AM or 6:00 PM (Perform group coaching at 5:45 AM only)
  • Weekend Long Runs: Saturday or Sunday at 7:00 AM (Perform group coaching on Sunday only)
  • Workouts held at locations on the American River Parkway, at William Land Park, and other locations near the central Sacramento area

Fleet Feet Davis

  • Wednesday Speed Workouts: 6:00 PM
  • Weekend Long Runs: Saturday at 7:00 AM
  • Workouts held at Fleet Feet Davis, Mace Ranch Park, and UC Davis

Fleet Feet Elk Grove

  • Wednesday Speed Workouts: 6:00 PM
  • Weekend Long Runs: Saturday at 7:00 AM
  • Workouts held at Fleet Feet Elk Grove and Elk Grove Regional Park

No refunds after the first workout. No exchanges or transfers at any time.
Training fee does not include any race entry fee.
