Fleet Feet Sports Sacramento has supported the local fitness community for over 30 years. We are honored to to get to work with great local organizations and to create programs that support the pursuit of fitness for everyone.
Fleet Feet Sports' Youth Fitness Initiative
Young children are not getting the amount of exercise they require to keep their bodies and minds sharp and in shape. Schools have reduced physical education programs and recess times, and the allure of screen games and television is allowing our kids to develop sedentary lifestyles. This is a leading problem in increased childhood obesity and the development of diabetes.
Fleet Feet Racing
Fleet Feet Racing Sacramento is an adult running team for dedicated racers. Our goal is to help each team member maximize their ability with a year-round training regimen that focuses on local and regional races. In addition, team members support Fleet Feet Sports related community projects such as Project Fit, Fleet Feet Event Management, Sacramento State University Track & Field and many other organizations through volunteering and charitable activities.
Local Race Sponsorships
Each year Fleet Feet Sports Sacramento supports over 60 local walking and running events. Most of these events support local non-profit beneficiaries. Fleet Feet Sports is proud to help Sacramento area fitness enthusiasts enjoy a variety of quality walking and running events. We are glad to have supported worthy charities such as WEAVE, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Northern Area Dietetics Association and many others including the Sacramento Food Bank Services wherein over time Fleet Feet Sports has donated over $25,000 through the Run to Feed the Hungry.
Girls on the Run of Greater Sacramento
Fleet Feet Sports Sacramento is proud to sponsor Girls on the Run of Greater Sacramento. Girls on the Run is a life-changing, non-profit prevention program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. The Girls on the Run mission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Carmichael Running Club
Fleet Feet Sports Sacramento supports the Carmichael Running Club through on-site shoe fittings, vendor partnerships and youth fitness education. The Carmichael Running Club acts as an advocate for the education of nutrition and fitness to youth in our community through the sport of running.
Shoe Donation Programs
Fleet Feet Sports and our non-profit after school running program called Project Fit are excited to be an official partner with Project Sole. Project Sole offersoffer a way for Project Fit to generate supplemental income to assist with operating costs and continue making a difference. Project Sole provides $2 to Project Fit for every pair of shoes donated through Fleet Feet Sports Sacramento. It's simple - stop into Fleet Feet Sports and drop off your old kicks.
In addition, hundreds of shoes were collected via customers, our vendor partners and our own inventory to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Fleet Feet Sports covered the entire cost of shipping all the shoes to Fleet Feet Sports Jackson, MS who then delivered the shoes to the Gulf Coast. Collectively Fleet Feet Sports locations nationwide collected over 5,000 pair of shoes for this project. Fleet Feet Sports has organized similar projects for local High Schools Cross Country and Track & Field teams as well as local organizations such as Clean & Sober.
