Cowtown Half Marathon Training Program

Registration opens June 7, 2010 at 10 am

Run or walk your way to your first half marathon finish or improve your current time by joining the Cowtown Half Marathon training program. This training program is 8 weeks and will prepare you for the Cowtown Half Marathon on Sunday, October 3, 2010

Workout Times and Locations

First group workout is Sunday, August 8, 2010

Wednesday night workouts begin at 6:00 pm

Sunday morning workouts begin at 7:30 am

Home base for all group workouts is 100 Howe Ave, University Park Office Parking Lot
All weekday workouts will be held at Howe Avenue; Some Sunday workouts will be held at other Sacramento area locations (Sunrise/Gold River, Discovery Park, Folsom, etc.)

Training Groups

  • Runners, under 11 minute per mile pace
  • Runners, 11 - 13 minute per mile pace
  • Run/Walkers
  • Walkers

Suggested Activity Level Prior to Start of Training

All participants should be able to run or walk a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes three times a week by the start of training.

Registration opens Monday, June 7, 2010 at 10 am
(online, in-person at Fleet Feet Sports or by phone at 442-3338)

$90 per person

NO REFUNDS after August 3, 2010
There are no exchanges or transfers at any time
Registration fee does not include race entries.
A maximum of 250 people will be allowed in the training program.  There is no waiting list.

Kick-off Night for Registered Participants

The Cowtown Training program will Kick-off on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Fleet Feet J Street.  Training packets will be handed out from 10 am - 7:00 pm and the Kick-off seminar will begin at 7 pm on each day. You can pick up your packet anytime throughout the day.

All registered participants should mark their calendars for the Kick-off Night. The Kick-off Night is where all specific training information is reviewed and discussed including training packets, training schedules, seminar dates, etc.
