My journey with running began back in 2002 when I decided to get back in shape after having two kids. I started with walking on a treadmill at home then started adding in one minute of running. I eventually worked up the courage to head outside and went to Fleet Feet to get a good pair of shoes. In 2003 I joined Fleet Feet's first training program and I was hooked.  I started running 5k's, 10k's and half marathons and eventually ran my first full marathon in 2005. I loved the long distances and soon signed up for my first trail 50k (Way Too Cool) in 2006.  That began my love for ultra distances. After about two dozen ultras with distances from 50k, 50 miles and 100k, I tackled my first 100. I ran the Javelina Jundred in 2009 and the Headlands Hundred in 2010. The absolute highlight of my running came when I stepped onto the track at Placer High School in Auburn as I headed to the finish line of the Western States 100. It was a nail biter with a finish time of 29:51! My advice to runners is to be patient, take it one step at a time, and never, ever think what you want is impossible. Dream big!
