Enjoy a fun 2-mile run or walk, then party with your friends on New Year's Eve and be back home before midnight!

The Front Street location provides a two-mile course with more light, closer parking, and convenient access to the huge New Year's Eve celebration in Old Sacramento.

Come for the run or walk and stay downtown for the party!

Beneficiary

This event raises funds for the McClatchy All-Weather Track Project.  The McClatchy All-Weather Track and Field Facility Project will enrich the Land Park community by building an all-weather track facility that supports local athletic programs, provides a safe workout environment for our students and our neighbors, and improves the overall quality of the C.K. McClatchy High School campus.

Race Day Schedule

5-6:45 p.m. Registration and packet pick-up, Front Street Promenade (Front and O Streets)
7:00pm Start of 2 Mile Run and Walk
7:45pm Awards to Top Five Male & Female Finishers

Start & Finish

Start, finish and registration at Front Street Promenade (Front & O Streets in Sacramento).

Race Registration

• $22 entry fee before race night; $25 on race night

• Register by mail with form below or online with reduced service charges!

Packet Pickup and Late Registration

Only on Wednesday, December 31 (race day) - two options:

  • 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Fleet Feet Sacramento, 2311 J Street, Sacramento
  • 5-6:45 p.m., Front Street Promenade, Front and O Streets, Downtown Sacramento

RACE RULES
For the safety of all participants, and for insurance reasons:
No baby joggers or strollers
No headphones, iPods, or Walkman radios
No dogs in the race or the start/finish area
No exceptions to above rules

T-Shirt & Goody Bag

The Fleet Feet New Year's Eve Run features short sleeve participation t-shirts.

Awards

Awards to top five men and women overall finishers.

Course

A safe, smooth 2-mile course on Front Street and bike trail from Front Street Promenade. Only the top five men and women will be timed. All others can see their time on the digital clock at the finish line.  Headlamps recommended for safety.

Directions & Parking

Front Street Promenade (Front & O Streets) is one block west of the Crocker Art Museum.

Exit I-5 at J Street, turn right on Third St., and right on O Street. Plenty of free parking on streets around the park.

Thanks for Participating in the New Year’s Eve 2-Mile Run/Walk

More than 350 runners and walkers enjoyed cool but dry and calm conditions—great weather for running! The event benefits the C.K. McClatchy High School Track and Field Boosters. Most of the volunteers at the event were student athletes and their parents.
