The weather is warming up and chafing can become a real problem.
There are several ways to avoid painful chafing
- Avoid Cotton - Cotton is rotten. Cotton absorbs sweat and once it gets wet it stays wet and can increase friction. Wearing technical fiber clothing while running can help keep you cool, plus helps wick away moisture and keeps you dry.
- Consider Thigh-Length Tights - If you find that you chafe in certain areas, try wearing clothes to cover those areas. If your thighs rub together, try a thigh-length tight to help reduce painful chafing.
- Look for Flat Seams - Seams can cause irritation. Look for clothes and socks with flat-locked seams to help reduce friction.
- Use a Lubricant - There are many anti-chafe products on the market, such as Body Glide, that can help protect your skin from chafing. Consider using an anti-chaffing lubricant along bra straps, under arms and any other part of your body that may chafe while working out.
