We are excited for this Sunday’s Blood, Sweat, and Beers Trail Run near Auburn. Blood, Sweat, and Beers has lived up to its name for the last two years. This is one trail run that is not flat, and not rolling. There are steep descents and some good climbs, the first being the aptly named Cardiac. Along the way you will be greeted by friendly and enthusiastic aid station volunteers and spectacular views of the American River surrounding landscape. At the race finish it is time to relax on the grass and take in some sun. You will see and hear participants talking about the day, how tough some of the hills were, showing off the accumulated dirt on their shoes and clothes, and you may even see some victims of star thistle, which always seem to draw a little blood year after year. Not to worry though! You can grab a burger and a cold beer from Hoppy Brewing Company at the barbecue and revel in a race well done!
We look forward to seeing you out there. If you didn't get registered in time this year...you can still register for the Run on the Sly Trail Runs. Beautiful runs that aren't quite as challenging as Blood, Sweat & Beers.
