The Official California International Marathon Training Program!

The Sacramento Running Association (SRA), Fleet Feet Sports and New Balance have partnered to bring you a California International Marathon (CIM) training experience like no other!  The Official CIM Training program has everything –experienced coaches, ability-based training schedules and marathon specific seminars along with a private bus to the starting line and private VIP tent at the start. 

While this marathon training is filled with perks, at its core it is about building a community of people who share a passion and who want to work together to reach their goals. This program is about encouraging and motivating one another to do your best.  Whether you are looking to simply finish, improve on a previous time or race to perform, this program will leave you a better, faster and smarter runner.

The Official California International Marathon Training Program
Schedule: (working out alongside Fleet Feet 360)
-Wednesday- Speed Workout- 5:45am OR 6:00pm (60 min class)
-Saturday OR Sunday- Long Distance- 7:00am (length dependent on distance/pace)
-Optional Add-On: Thursday- Functional Fitness- 5:45am OR 6:00pm (60 min class) starting August 10-November 30. 
Registration Fee: $199.00
Length: 17 weeks
Locations: Weeknights are held in central Sacramento near William Land Park or Howe Ave. Weekends hop along the American River Parkway from Discovery Park to Folsom.

3 Schedules to Choose From: Which Level is Right for You?
Check out the first training week here!

Finish
- Designed for first-time marathoners
- Running or run/walking at least 14 min/mile (see suggested activity level below)
- Run/walk intervals encouraged throughout training for long distance mileage
- Schedule includes 4-5 days/week of running or run/walking 
- Goal: to get you to the finish line healthy and injury free

Improve
- Designed for those who have completed a marathon in the recent past and want to improve their time
- Running or run/walking at least 14 min/mile (see suggested activity level below)
- Schedule includes 5-6 days/week of running or run/walking
- Goal: to help you improve your marathon finish time

Perform
- Designed for those seeking to qualify for the Boston Marathon at the California International Marathon
- Must have a current marathon pace of sub-4 hours to qualify
- Small group off-site Wednesday 6:00pm speed workouts with SRA's head coach Charlie Brenneman 
- Email access to SRA's head coach Charlie Brenneman throughout training
- Weekend long runs are done on own, coordinated with other "Perform" members or with larger group (though you'll need to complete higher mileage than what is marked)
- Schedule includes 6 days/week of running
- Goal: to help you perform at CIM and gain a Boston qualifying time

Suggested Activity Level Prior to Start of Training
- We welcome marathoners of all levels but also want to ensure your success and completion of the training and race. 
- Workout mileage starts from 7-10 miles (dependent on your choice of schedule).
- We recommend being able to run/walk or run at least 7 miles or roughly 70-90 minutes continuously prior to the start of training.
- We also recommend at least 6 months of consistent training, for a minimum of 4 days a week prior to the start of training. 
- Please be aware-The California International Marathon has a cutoff time of 6 1/2 hours or roughly 13.5 min/mile pace.
- We encourage anyone beyond a 14 min/mile pace to contact us at training@fleetfeetsacramento.com for more information. 

Registration Details 
- Registration Fee: $199.00
- Functional Fitness (add-on class) Fee: $99.00
- No refunds after the first workout. No exchanges or transfers at any time.
- Training fee does not include any race entry fee.
- Please note, due to liability and safety concerns, we can not allow dogs or strollers at Fleet Feet Training workouts.
