How Are Points Earned?
Eligible participants simply enter and finish a Series event to score points. They do not need to declare or submit their performance. Capital Road Race Management will automatically tabulate their score.
Individual performances are assigned a point value based on the participant’s “Age Graded” performance. Age grading accurately compares performances among men and women competitors of all ages. The points earned equal the athlete’s Age Graded Percentage score. For example, a 47-year old male who runs 18:00 for 5 km would score 80% on the age graded tables and receive 80 points. A 52-year-old female would ran 21:41 would score the same 80 points. Below you will find a link to a complete explanation of the age-grading process.
We will also use a “degree of difficulty” factor to weight performances on hilly courses, such as the Fair Oaks Fiesta Sun Run and the Apple Hill Harvest Run.
