Shamrock’n Half Marathon and 5 km Post Race Update: Answers to Common Questions
Updated Monday, March 17, 2008
First off, congratulations and thank you to all who participated in the 4th Annual Shamrock’n Half Marathon and 5 km on March 16 at Raley Field in West Sacramento. More than 4,700 registered and 3,900 finished this event! In four years, Shamrock’n has become the Sacramento-area’s largest half marathon and fourth largest event overall!
Where can I find race results?
Click on the “Results” link at the top of this page or scroll to the bottom and click on the link for the 2008 results.
How do I fix a problem with the results (time is wrong, not listed, name misspelled, etc.)?
All race results or finish time questions should be referred to the timing company, not to Fleet Feet. To correct all timing or results errors, please e-mail:
results@capitalroadrace.com. You will be contacted directly with the solution or request for more information. Corrected results will be re-posted frequently, but not always after every single correction.
I placed in the top three in my age division. Where do I get my award?
All age division awards that were not picked up at the race are available at Fleet Feet Sports, 2311 J Street, in Sacramento. You can pick up your award during regular store hours: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
What about prize money awards?
We will be mailing prize money checks out to those top finishers in the next 10-12 days when results become official. The prize money breakdown is listed below under “Awards.”
Do you have left-over shirts for purchase or for size exchange?
We have the following shirts available:
5 km: a handful of unisex cotton 5 km shirts in each size, small-XXL. These are $5 each.
Half-Marathon race shirts: black Brooks short-sleeve technical shirts. These are $10 each.
Women’s sizes:
Small—very few
Medium—plenty
Large—plenty
XL-none
Men’s sizes:
Small—very few
Medium—very few
Large—very few
XL—plenty

These shirts are available first-come, first served.
If you want to exchange the shirt you already have (and have not worn or washed), please bring it with you to Fleet Feet Sports, 2311 J Street in Sacramento.
I didn’t make it to the race. Can I still get my shirt?
If you did not attend the race and did not get your shirt before the race, you may pick-up your shirt at the store (see available sizes above). Shirts are not mailed.
Is there any merchandise left?
Just about everything sold out on race day. The only merchandise we have available are grey/heather women’s medium long-sleeve technical training shirts with a green “Shamrock’n” design on the front. These are for sale at the store for $10. Women’s medium is the only size available.
Where can I see and purchase pictures from the race?
Pictures will be available to view and purchase in 7-to-10 days or so at http://www.brightroom.com/view_event.asp?EVENTID=35057&PWD=
Are there any more half marathon finish medals?
You may pick-up a replacement medal if yours was lost or stolen. We do not sell medals.
I still have my timing chip. What should I do with it now?
You must mail your timing chip back to: Capital Road Race Management, or you will be charged $30. Their address is: CRRM, P.O. Box 19027, Sacramento, CA 95819. The address for CRRM is also on your chip envelope.
How come you ran out of food for late finishers?
We regret that the final 200 or so finishers did not receive a snack bag. We had a higher percentage of finishers this year then the first three years. We had to put in our food order several weeks before the race and, to avoid waste, we tried to make our estimate close as possible (we threw away hundreds of bags of food last year). Unfortunately, we ran short and we apologize to those affected.
Our understanding is that those finishers over about 3 hours and 5 minutes did not receive snack bags. We will send a special note and discount coupon soon to those who finished over 3:05. If you finished under 3:05 and also did not get a snack bag, please send an e-mail with your name and address to: raceinfo@ffsac.com.
Thanks for a great race…Zoo Zoom is next!

The PCEC’s mission is to save lives through the education of men and the women in their lives, as well as the medical community, about the prevalence of prostate cancer, the importance of early detection, available treatment options, and other men’s health issues.
Shamrock’n also provides a donation to several area organizations that provide event support including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training, The American Stroke Association’s Train to End Stroke, and Running for Rhett.
