Race Day: Saturday, June 21, Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd (@ X Street), Sacramento, 6:30-7:45 a.m. (closes 8:45 a.m. for 5 km).
RACE RULES
For the safety of all participants, and for insurance reasons:
Baby joggers or strollers in the back of the 5km only.
No headphones, iPods, or Walkman radios
No dogs in the race or the start/finish area
No exceptions to above rules
All entrants receive a race t-shirt. Size guaranteed only for pre-registered entrants.
Age Division Awards
8 km: awards to the top three finishers in each five-year age group: 15-under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, etc., to 75-over.
5 km: Awards to the top three in each 10-year age group: 15-under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, etc. to 80-over.
Prize Money equal for men and women:
Prize Purse of $2,550 8 km run is a Pacific Association of USA Track & Field Road Grand Prix event with a $2,550 prize money purse to top individuals and teams. Current USATF membership and Pacific Association residency (min. 90 days) is required for prize money. Contact PA-USATF for membership at www.pausatf.org, (916) 983-4715.
Prize money is equal for men and women:
Open (ages 20-39): 1. 200, 2. $100, 3. $50; Open Teams: 1. $225, 2. $125; 3. $50.
Masters (ages 40-49): 1. $125; 2. $50. Masters Teams: 1. $125; 2. $50;
Seniors (50-59): 1. $50. Teams: 1. $25;
Super Seniors (60-69): 1. $25. Teams: 1. $25;
Veterans (70-over): 1. $25 (no team money).
Both the 8 km (4.97-mile) and 5 km (3.1-mile) courses are flat, scenic, and USATF certified. 8 km is for runners only. The course is open for one hour and five minutes (a pace of 13 minutes a mile). The 5 km course is walker-friendly with a time limit of one hour (19-minutes-per-mile pace).
Both events will be ChampionChip timed to ensure fast and accurate results.
Shriners Hospital is 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817, and is on the corner of Stockton Blvd. and X Streets. Free parking in the Shriners Hospital garage.
