Workouts

Kick-Off and Launch Party
When: Wednesday, August 3rd @ 7:00 pm
Where: Fleet Feet Sports Sacramento - 2311 J Street (driving directions)

  • Come pick up your schedule, coupons, meet your coaches and enjoy yummies! 
  • Learn more about the program
  • Bring a friend! It's always more fun to train with a friend. 

First Workout
When: Sunday, August 7th @ 7:00 am
Where: Howe Avenue: 100 Howe Avenue, University Park Offices: (workout directions)

  • Please arrive no later than 6:45 to get checked-in and pick up your schedule and coupons. 
  • Bring a friend, there is still space!
  • Don't forget water. It is important that you stay hydrated throughout your workout.
  • Yoga mat or towel is great for our stretch and core routines after the workout
  • Josh from New Balance will be out with shoes for you to demo during your workout. Be sure to arrive early if you want to try your size on. 
  • Shirts will be available to pick-up after the first workout. 

Training Topics

Come Prepared: Are you ready for your first workout? Here are a few great things you will need to come prepared to the first workout.

S.M.A.R.T. Goals: "A goal is a dream with a deadline." What would you like to get out of this training? Are you looking to run your first marathon? Do you have a specific time goal? Whatever your goal, it's important to put it in writing and create an action plan. Here is a fantastic worksheet to make sure you are setting S.M.A.R.T. goals.

American River Parkway Etiquette: Just as there are "rules of the road" when it comes to driving, there are similar safety rules and etiquette along the trails for walkers and runners. Click here to brush up on a simple code of conduct that keeps the parkway safe. Also, if you are in need of a Parkway Pass- Fleet Feet Sacramento sells them! Grab one and enjoy the "Jewel of Sacramento".

Sports Bras: This one is for the ladies! For women, after a great pair of shoes, the perfect sports bra is the most essential piece you can have in your running closet. Learn Why Here! Need some new sports bras? Check out our Bra Fit Fest event below.

Training Schedules: For anyone that likes an e-copy of the schedule; here is one you can download. We have 3 schedules available based on your training goal and ability. Finish is for those looking to complete their first marathon. Improve is for those looking to PR. Perform is for those looking to qualify for the Boston marathon. Perform, Improve, or Finish.

What's Happening in Training

  • Bra Fit Fest: August 4th - 6th all day at Fleet Feet Sacramento - This is for the ladies! Schedule an appointment to be fitted for a sports bra with one of our female Fit Specialist. There will be specials on sports bras and free gift with purchase!
  • Dr. Scott from Elite Spinal: August 10th Dr. Scott from Elite Spinal and Sports Care will be available to address any aches and pains you may have. 
  • Form Clinic: Sunday, August 14th @ 6:30 am - Join your coaches for our quick form clinic prior to the workout. This a must for first time trainees and a great refresher for returning trainees.
  • Self-Defense Clinic: Sunday, August 21st @ 6:30 am- Please arrive early to learn about important self-defense techniques from Ryan Rich- Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt.
  • Fueling Clinic: Sunday, August 28th @ 6:30 am - Please arrive early to learn about the importance of fueling for your long workouts. We will have samples of various products available to test. 
Seminars and Clinics: Fleet Feet Sacramento offers many free monthly clinics on varying topics including form, mobility and so much more. Check out our calendar of upcoming events

Free Fun Run/Walks: Come join us any Tuesday at Fleet Feet Sacramento at 6pm for a free fun run or walk. Friends and family welcome. Open to the public.
