Congratulations on an amazing event! It was truly fantastic to see so many of you out at CIM this weekend. A big thank you to SRA and New Balance and congratulations to everyone on an amazing season. We are so proud of you!!

A note from Training Director, Amy:

There is something very special about a marathon, not only the race itself but the time, energy, sweat and tears that go into even just reaching the starting line. A marathon is not something you can do on a whim. You can't just wake up and decide to run 26 miles. It takes many many months, and for some, even years to reach that start line. That is not something to be taken lightly. I hope as you take the next few days to absorb Sunday's race, no matter the outcome, that you are also able to revel in all that you accomplished up to that day. No matter if you reached that finish line (or even the starting line), that BQ, that "secret" pace goal; you should be so proud of all the hard work and dedication you put in in the past 4 months. A marathon changes for a marathon changes you. Look back to the end of July, then look at today; see how far you have come. You may have final checked that bucket list item, you may have made new friends, you may have found a grit and determination you never knew you had.  If the day went exactly as you imagined, congratulations- I couldn't be more happy for you or more proud of you. If Sunday didn't go as planned, take that moment to grieve (we ALL have those moments),then get back up and get back out there. No matter how the race itself went, that one day will never be your end all and be all. Never forget that the magic happens during all those miles and hours before the race. The race itself is just icing on the cake, never to be discounted (I DO love me some icing), but never to be taken out of context of all the hard work you have put in up to that point.
I say all this in the hopes that you are able to really take in how crazy the task of a marathon is and how amazing it is that you had the guts to take this beast on. You are all amazing, beautiful people and an inspiration to everyone around you. My heart swells with pride for each and every one of you and I can't wait to celebrate with you all on Thursday. For now, eat something delicious, take a nap, be careful on stairs and know that you have the entire Fleet Feet family celebrating your victories, commiserating your defeats and ready for you when you are ready to take on your next challenge.

Training Topics

CIM Training Survey: We work hard to provide you with the absolute best training experience possible. Now it is your turn to tell us what you think and how we can make our program even better. Please take a few minutes to take our CIM Training Survey.

Post Race Party: Mark your calendars for our Post Race Party this Thursday, December 8th at 7:00 pm, here at Fleet Feet Sacramento. Celebrate your CIM finish, wear your finisher's medal, and share stories with your fellow trainees. Please share your favorite memory from training or from CIM itself, with us and we just may share it at the party!

Spread the Inspiration- Chances are...someone has noticed that you've spent the past 4 months doing a lot of running. They may even have asked you about it. A coworker? Family member? We all have the opportunity to inspire someone to take that first step on their own running/walking/fitness journey. And I would encourage you to recommend our No Boundaries 5k program to that someone. Can you take 1 minute to tell them about No Boundaries? You never know where that one small step may lead.

Facebook Ending: It has been fun getting to know each other at our workouts in our CIM Facebook group. However, all good things must come to an end and we will have to close our Facebook group soon after CIM.  We will leave it up for one more week - so send those friend requests and get those phone numbers so you can continue meeting up after the race.
