Mentor Opportunities

January-June 2017

Here is a list of programs offered by Fleet Feet Sports Sacramento in the first half of 2017. 

Please look at the dates and times carefully. By noting your preferences below, this does not guarantee you a position mentoring in that program; it merely indicates to me what you are able and willing to do. You will never be forced to mentor a program you don't want to. I will look at everyone's preferences and decide based on people's availability and the programs' needs. I will let you know what program you will be mentoring for in a timely manner. Please remember, in mentoring a program, you are NOT training with that program. You are there to help the coaches and motivate the trainees. We also ask that within a training period you miss no more than 3 workouts. You will be available to run that specific race, though, if you'd like. For 360- you would be able to attend the "opposing" workout for free of charge as well. (meaning if you mentor on Saturdays, you could come and workout on Sundays for free). 

*Please note- with the new 5:45am class time, the coaches have been instructed to keep speed workouts (morn and evening) moving efficiently and especially in the morning, to keep it to a 60 min workout. You should be packed up by 7am.

No Boundaries Session 2- Women's Fitness Festival 5k

  • Kickoff and First Workout April 1
  • April 1-May 31
  • WFF race June 4
  • Wed 6pm and Sat 8am
  • William Land Park 
  • 10 weeks
  • 1 mentor needed

Fleet Feet 360 Session 1- Shamrock'n 10k & 1/2: 

  • Kickoff Jan 4
  • Jan 7-March 8
  • Sham 10k March 11, Sham 1/2 March 12
  • 10 weeks
  • 2 mentors Wed 5:45am (Land Park)
  • 4 mentors Wed 6pm (Howe)
  • 3 Sat 7:30am (parkway)
  • 3 Sun 7:30am (parkway)
  • 6 total (each mentor helps Wed/Sat or Wed/Sun)

Fleet Feet 360 Session 2- Women's Fitness Festival 10k (1/2 training offered as well): 

  • Kickoff March 15
  • March 18-May 31
  • WFF 5k & 10k on June 4
  • 12 weeks
  • 1-2 mentors Wed 5:45am (Land Park)
  • 3-4 mentors Wed 6pm (Howe)
  • 2-3 Sat 7:30am (Parkway)
  • 2-3 Sun 7:30am (Parkway)
  • 4-6 total (depends on number of trainees) (each mentor helps Wed/Sat or Wed/Sun)

Fleet Feet 360 Session 3- Summer (not race specific): 

  • Kickoff June 7
  • June 10-July 30
  • No race (I'm thinking of hosting our own "360 race" on the last weekend with a 10k and 1/2). 
  • 8 weeks
  • 1-2 mentors Wed 5:45am (Land Park)
  • 3-4 mentors Wed 6pm (Land Park)
  • 2-3 Sat 7:30am (Parkway)
  • 2-3 Sun 7:30am (Parkway)
  • 4-6 total (depends on number of trainees)(each mentor helps Wed/Sat or Wed/Sun)
Trail Heads Session 1- Dirty Secret: 
  • First workout and Trail Gate Party- March 19
  • March 19-May 3

  • 7 weeks
  • Wed 6:30pm and Sun 7:30am

Trail Heads Session 2- Blood Sweat and Beers: 
  • First workout and Trail Gate Party- June 11
