Race Prep Tips: For those taking part in the Zoo Zoom 5k or 10k race, let's review some helpful tips so you are prepared for race day.
SNFC Healthy Eating Recipes: It's tough to go wrong with spaghetti and meatballs, but we’re always up for a variation. This Turkey Italian Meatballs with a Simple & Delicious Tomato Sauce recipe from the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op replaces the common beef for turkey instead. We juice up our meatballs with grated onion, garlic, parsley, and a little Parmesan and Pecorino Romano cheeses. They're lighter and leaner than classic meatballs but still tender and flavorful. We love to eat these piled high atop whole wheat spaghetti or simply enjoy them by themselves. Mangia!
Brooks Run Happy Tip: This week reflect on all that you have accomplished in the last 8 weeks. No matter your goal, you have worked hard, pushed yourself and should be proud. Embrace this moment. You have shown us the true meaning of being fearless!
Zoo Zoom: There is still time to register for the Sacramento Zoo Zoom 5k or 10k. This is a great way to honor all the hard work you are putting into training. We will have a special meet up spot prior to the race on the west side of the start line - look for the Fleet Feet tent! Register today!
What's Next: Have you thought about what you will train for next when No Boundaries SMUD is over? We have a variety of training programs starting up in the next few weeks that will suit your training needs. Don't forget about our $10 discount good on any Fleet Feet Sacramento program (sans No Boundaries) with coupon code TRAINWITHUS16.
