Proper Form: More people than ever are trying to fix their running form in the hope of eliminating injuries and getting faster. Your running mechanics are determined by the strength and flexibility of certain muscles and how your body is built. Here are a few basic tips to help you maintain proper running form as well as some helpful resource videos to take you through each step.
SNFC Healthy Eating Recipes: This week's healthy eating recipe from the Sacramento Natural Food Co-Op is Chicken Posole. It's fresh and light, spicy and cool, crunchy and chewy — all in one bowl. It's also the best kind of soup for this in-between "not quite cold, but not quite warm" weather we've been having. Its real magic lies in the garnishes. Stirred into the hot broth, the raw vegetables give a crunchy, fresh backdrop to the chewy hominy and bites of tender chicken.
Brooks "Run Happy" Tip: Posture is key for Proper Running Form. It may seem daunting but it can actually be very easy. Before every run, raise your arms high above your head elongating your spine. Then drop your arms to the side and you are in nice tall proper posture. This also works great even in the middle of a long run when you are feeling fatigued.
