Recovery Tools: While it's necessary to work hard during your workouts, it's equally as important to make sure your body gets the recovery it needs. Stretching: Many experts agree that stretching reduces muscle soreness after running or walking and can result in better athletic performance. Here are some basic stretches for runners and walkers.

SNFC Healthy Eating Recipes: This week's healthy eating recipe from the Sacramento Natural Food Co-Op is for Thai Style Winter Squash Soup. Let me tell you a little bit about this soup: squash, red curry, coconut, ginger, garlic, creamy, dreamy, healthy, lick-your-bowl delicious. I think that describes it pretty well! It’s easy to make, packed with nutrition and full of rich flavors!

Brooks "Run Happy" Tip: Treat yourself to a great pair of socks. Not only can this feel amazing on your feet, it can also help prevent blisters from forming. Look for technical fiber socks that help wick moisture. There are many styles for all types of feet from super cushy to hyper-thin. Always a nice treat for race day! 

What's Happening in Training 

Zoo Zoom: Are you thinking about participating in the Sacramento Zoo Zoom 5k or 10k? This is a great way to honor all the hard work you are putting into training. Your coach will be joining you race day and we will have a special Fleet Feet Training Tent for everyone to gather and celebrate their success. Register today!

Yoga For Runners: Join Hillary Helt, certified yoga instructor and Fleet Feet Sacramento Fit Specialist on Wednesday March 23rd for this 2-hour fun event.
