Workout Times and Locations

  • Wednesday/Thursday, February 17th/18th @ 6:00 pm - 100 Howe Ave  - click here for directions
    • Don't forget a water bottle and a yoga mat or towel. 
    • It will be dark during your workout so please bring a headlamp or flashlight and reflective gear.
    • Matt from Brooks will be out with shoe demos. 
  • Saturday/Sunday, February 20th/21st @ 7:30 am- Cavitt Middle School, 7200 Fuller Drive, Granite Bay  - click here for directions
    • Don't forget a water bottle, yoga mat for recovery after your workout.
    • An aid station will be provided for you to top off your water bottles and sample some fueling options.
    • 7:00 am start time for the 13-15 min pace and 15+ min pace groups.
    • No restrooms available at the school, but there are restrooms at the Dutch Bros. coffee on Auburn Folsom Rd. across the street or at Beals Point 1.8 miles down the trail.

Self Talk: Self-talk is the talking you do in your own head about yourself and the things that happen, your own "running commentary" on your life. What you say to yourself can have a big effect on the way that you feel, and on what you can achieve. Positive self-talk is one tool that can be used to achieve your full potential.

Consistency: Consistency is a key component to any exercise routine. It can help prevent injuries and better ensure you reach your training goals . Keeping up a running or walking routine does not have to be a constant struggle. Learn how to make regular exercise a part of your everyday life!

Garmin Electronics: Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned half marathoner a wearable electronic GPS device can help you with your workouts in a variety of ways. Fleet Feet Sacramento carries an array of Garmin electronics that will keep track of your pace, distance, heart rate, and other features tailored to your specific needs.

Brooks "Run Happy" Tip: This week, let's focus on sleep. Sleep is one of the main components of proper recovery and can effect so much more than your workout including but not limited to: increased appetite and cravings for sugar and carbohydrates, lowered cognitive function and immune function and greater susceptibility to stress. Work on getting 7-9 hours of sleep or until you wake fully rested. One of the best ways to improve your sleep habits is to set a bedtime. Falling asleep and waking at the same time each day insures your body gets in proper rhythm. How well are you sleeping?
