Workout Times and Locations

  • Wednesday/Thursday, February 10th/11th @ 6:00 pm - 100 Howe Ave  - click here for directions
    • Don't forget a water bottle and a yoga mat or towel. 
    • It will be dark during your workout so please bring a headlamp or flashlight and reflective gear.
  • Saturday/Sunday, February 13th/14th @ 7:30 am- Sunrise Boulevard location: 11211 Gold Country Blvd., Gold River Executive Cente - click here for directions
    • Don't forget a water bottle, yoga mat for recovery after your workout.
    • Halfway Celebration and Potluck! See below for details.
    • An aid station will be provided for you to top off your water bottles and sample some fueling options.
    • 7:00 am start time for the 13-15 min pace and 15+ min pace groups.

Training Topics

Compression: You have probably seen people at races or running around the streets that have compression socks or sleeves on. Maybe you have thought to yourself, “Do those really work?” or “I wonder if those would help my shin splints or calf cramps?” Here are some benefits of what compression socks and sleeves do to help the body.

Recovery Tips: While most new runners get excited about the running and the racing, the savvy runner will tell you that the time when you are not running is equally important. But, contrary to conventional wisdom, recovery is more than just drinking the right ratio of carbs to protein after a hard workout. Here are some simple yet very effective ways to make sure you are recovering properly.

Recovery Tools: While it's necessary to work hard during your workouts, it's equally as important to make sure your body gets the recovery it needs. Here are some tutorials from our friends at Trigger Point and Addaday. And don't forget that Fleet Feet offers free massage tutorials every month in our Mobility Seminars- February's class is tonight, 7pm. RSVP Now!

Brooks "Run Happy" Tip: Proper fueling isn't just about what you consume during your workouts, but also means having something within 30 minutes afterwards. There are many great ways to get in the right recovery fuel, like bars or powders to mix with water or milk. Some of our Fleet Feet staff favorites include Hammer Recoverite or Probar. Grab one of these great options for your next workout and fuel right to feel right! 

What's Happening in Training

Halfway Celebration and Potluck: Don't forget that this weekend, February 13th/14th, is our Halfway Celebration and Potluck. Bring a yummy snack or drink to share with the group after your workout. Please be mindful of any possible food allergies - so if you prepare something from your kitchen be sure to put a note on it with any allergy causing ingredients (i.e. nuts, wheat, dairy, soy, etc).

​Sign Up for Shamrock'n Half Marathon: Have you registered for the Shamrock'n Half Marathon yet? If not, there is still time. But don't wait too long as this race does sell out every year. Price increases February 12th!
