Proper Pacing: Pacing can be confusing. How fast is too fast? Am I moving too slow? The key is to find the pace that works best for you and your workout. Here are a few tips and tricks to finding your pace.
Your Pace Chart: Now that you have completed your 1 mile assessment, you can create a personalized pace chart with our Fleet Feet Sports pace calculator. Select the 1 mile distance and input your time from this weekend. The calculator will create a pace chart for you. Once you have your pace chart- it may look like a foreign language. Feel free to ask coaches for help, but here is a handy guide on how to read the pace chart.
Hydration and Fueling: A hydration and fueling plan is vital to maintain an even performance and enjoyable feeling for the duration of the workout. The longer you run, the more important having an understanding of your hydration and fueling needs becomes. Here are some tips to help you with your hydration and fueling plan.
Brooks "Run Happy" Tip: Focus on recovery nutrition this week. Make sure to bring a snack to enjoy after your weekend workout during stretches or on your car ride home. Getting fuel in your body immediately after your workout is one of the best ways to ensure proper recovery after a long run. Try something with carbs and protein like a protein shake, peanut butter and jelly sandwich or fruit and nuts.
Fueling Seminar:January 30th/31st at 7:00 am. Join your coaches for a 20 minute fueling seminar prior to the workout. This a must for first time trainees and a great refresher for returning trainees. Your coaches will cover hydration and fueling for before, during and after your workout. We will also have some samples of different gels and chews for you to try! Bring a yoga mat or chair and pen and paper to take notes. Don't forget to bundle up as well.
