Workout Times and Locations

  • Tuesday, January 5th @ 6:00 pm - William Land Park, near Doc Oliver Field- click here for directions
    • Don't forget a water and a yoga mat or towel. 
    • It will be dark during your workout so bring a headlamp or flashlight and reflective gear.
    • There is the possibility of rain during your workout. Please prepare accordingly. 
  • Saturday, January 9th @ 7:30 am- Natomas Racquet Club: 2450 Natomas Park Drive  - click here for directions
    • Don't forget a water bottle and a yoga mat or towel.
    • There will be NO aid station due to the shorter mileage so plan your hydration accordingly.
    • Your coaches will be discussing your Race Day Prep specific to the Star Wars 1/2 marathon after your workout, and Natomas Racquet Club will be providing a continental breakfast for you to enjoy. Yum!! See below for more details.
    • There is the possibility of rain during your workout. We recommend bringing an extra set of clothes to change into for the race prep after your run. 
    • This is your last long workout!

Race Prep Tips:  It is one thing to say you are mentally ready to race, but do you really know how to prepare? Here are some tips regarding the importance of getting prepared for a race

Race Day Fueling Plan: It is important to really start thinking about your race day fueling plan. Here is a nutrition and fueling worksheet you can use to make sure you are fueled and hydrated for the big day.

Star Wars Fun Fact: Luke Skywalker was originally going to be named Luke Starkiller, and retained the name up until the film begin shooting. Luckily, the name was never mentioned, so it was changed to Skywalker with little effort. 

What's Happening in Training

Race Prep: January 9th your coaches will be discussing race-prep with you after your workout. This is a good time to ask any questions or bring up any concerns you have about race day. Remember, both coaches have done multiple Disney races, so now is the time to pick their brains! Race Prep will be held in the lobby of the Natomas Racquet Club with a nice continental breakfast.

Last Workout: January 12th will be your final workout before race day. This workout will be held at Fleet Feet Sacramento and will be followed by an exclusive shopping night and pre-race PARTY! This is your time to grab last minute nutrition or accessories and get super excited for race day! This will also be a great way to celebrate race successes for anyone that participated in the Hot Chocolate race in SF on the 10th.  

Training Shirts: All Star Wars Training shirts have been transported back to Fleet Feet Sacramento. If you have not picked up your shirt or need to switch out your size- please contact us at training@fleetfeetsacramento.com as soon as possible and we will hold a shirt for you.
